The exam is suitable for dentists at any career stage, offering a confidence-inspiring opportunity for those who are newly qualified, looking to specialize, or working in general practice.
The exam focuses on clinical dentistry with a few questions on clinical sciences.
It has two parts, and passing both earns the Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry (RCSI) qualification. Traditionally in-person, the exam now has an online format. It's suitable for dental school graduates with 1-2 years of experience.
MFD Test Structure:
The online MFD Part 1 assessment consists of one 3-hour session with:
1- 375 True/False multiple-choice questions (maintaining the same format as the written version, with 75 stems, each with 5 parts that are either true or false).
2- 33 Single Best Answer questions (where a statement is presented, and candidates select what they feel is the "best" or most appropriate answer).
Best Benefits:
Solving previous questions to understand the nature of the exam. Additionally, setting a precise timetable with the lecturer to solve exercises similar to the real exam is crucial.
Students can expect a weekly session to promptly address all inquiries.
Rest assured that you will receive ongoing support throughout your studies, including participation in discussion groups and prompt answers to your questions.
The MFD course is sufficient to pass the global exam as long as you fully adhere to the lecturer’s instructions for the course.
